Product description

Granulated fertilizer, uniform loose granules, beige to brown in colour, 2-5 mm in size, constitute not less than 92% of the mass. Covered with anti-caking agents, without permanent caking characteristics. Bulk density: 0.98 kg/dm3.

Salmag® with boron is a mixture of ammonium nitrate with calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate as well as boric acid. 

The fertilizer includes 27.5% of nitrogen (N), including 13.8% in the ammonium form and 13.7% in the nitrate form. It also includes 3.5% of calcium soluble in water (CaO), 4% of total magnesium (MgO) and 0.2% of boron (B), very easily absorbed, that, is soluble in water. 

Intended use and application:

It is recommended that Salmag® with boron, as a universal nitrogen fertilizer, be used first under rape and under corn and beet in both cultivation on manure and without manure. It may also be used under other root crops (potato, fodder carrot), legume plants, in cultivation of vegetables (including onion, leek, cabbage and root vegetables) and in fruit cultures. Use in limited doses under corn and grass in field cultivation and on grassland, so as not to exceed 0.5 kg boron dose (up to 250 kg/ha of fertilizer mass). Saletrzak with boron® is recommended for soil of low boron content, that is, over 80% of the areas in Poland.

The addition of calcium and magnesium means that it is best that the fertilizer is mixed with soil after sowing. In top dressing, when mixing with soil is not possible, application of fertilizer on humid soil or before expected rainfall is recommended.

On account of its hygroscopicity, Salmag® with boron may be mixed immediately before spreading with PODLIDAP®, POLIFOSKA® and POLIMAG® S, and with potash salt, provided that the fertilizers are dry.


Salmag® with boron includes practically the same volume of slow-release ammonia nitrogen and fast-release nitrate nitrogen. Ammonia nitrogen is not washed out of the soil, is absorbed by plants slowly, enhances plant rooting, supports absorption of phosphorus and limits excess absorption of potassium. Fast-release nitrate nitrogen accelerates vegetation of plants soon after application of fertilizer, which means that in spring it accelerates the regeneration of plants following winter inactivation and contributes to the proper growth of plants when used before the phases of the highest demand. Boron is a factor in proper development of apex and cell wall structure (it increases strength), regulates processes of florescence and pollination and setting of seed and fruit, and ensures full development of ears, spadices, siliquae and pods.

With an equal volume of each form (ammonia and nitrate), it is a universal nitrogenous fertilizer in our climatic and soil conditions.

Packaging and transport

Salmag® with boron is packaged in:
  • 25 or 50 kg ± 1% polyethylene bags with overprint;
  • Flexible containers at 500 kg ± 1% or more, the so-called big-bags; 
  • Bulk.

The fertilizer must be transported while protected against water, rainfall, direct sunlight and damage to the packaging. It is forbidden to transport the fertilizer along with substances which may react with Salmag® with boron or are flammable, such as plant protection products, fertilizers with chlorides, metal oxides, acids, powdered metals, coal etc. 

Salmag® with boron is not classified, i.e. it is not considered a hazardous material according to the UN Orange Book and international transport codes, for example RID (railway transport), ADR (road transport) and IMDG (sea transport).

With regard to transportation using the road vehicles of the recipient or of a carrier acting on the direct instructions of the recipient, it is the recipient or the carrier who is responsible for any deterioration in the quality of the fertilizer.


Salmag® with boron is a highly hygroscopic product and should be stored in clean and dry warehouse buildings with non-flammable floors ensuring good insulation against moisture.

Salmag® with boron should be protected against:
  • Water and rainfall;
  • Direct sunlight;
  • Mechanical damage to packages;
  • Heating above 30°C.

The distance from the walls should be at least 20 cm, and from sources of heat at least 150 cm. Damaged bags should be stored separately.

In the immediate vicinity of Salmag® with boron should be placed no chemical compounds and materials which may react with it, such as plant protection products, fertilizers with chlorides, organic substances, highly alkaline substances (for example soda lye), lime, cement, powdered metals, metal oxides, acids and flammable materials like coal, wood, sawdust, lubricants, oils, engine fuels and straw.

Salmag® with boron must not be stored in an open space owing to its low resistance to temperature changes and the impact of moisture and heat.

Inside warehouse premises, smoking and the use of open flame is forbidden, while electrical wires should be sufficiently protected against shorting.

Polyethylene bags with overprint of a net content of 25 or 50 kg should be stored in horizontal layers on a non-flammable floor, in 10 layers at the most. Fertilizer in flexible containers of less than 500 kg in weight may be stored in piles of up to two layers, and in one layer if weight exceeds 500 kg. In the case of pallet storage, loading units should be made of one-layer piles.


If irritation occurs, wash skin and eyes with plenty of water. Dust masks and safety goggles are recommended. If swallowed accidentally, seek medical advice. Nontoxic, odourless, non-flammable fertilizer.
